Climbing up the Third Steepest Street in the World, 2nd Steepest in the United States! The only other steeper paved streets are 1) Canton Street- PA and 2) Baldwin Street- New Zealand. Canton Street’s maximum gradient is for a very short distance, so this climb is a better showcase of the power of these bikes. As you can see, the hill could be climbed at a high rate of speed and was even conquered from a dead stop. The Average Grade on Eldred Street is 33%+ and is a daunting climb. Question by : Does an electric bike need additional protection due to the battery?
I’m planning on getting an electric bicycle fairly soon. It is my very first one, and I’m somewhat ignorant about them (which I am trying to fix). I’m unfamiliar with how the battery is connected to the motor, or how the motor is connected to the bike. Do it’s important to worry about individuals stealing the battery and/or motor whereas the bike is chained up? If that’s the case, how can one correctly secure the motor/battery as well as the bike itself?
